Ghost Face Killah and Raekwon Will Perform “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx” at iii Points Festival in Wynwood

Among the many artists already announced at the iii Points alternative music festival, Raekwon and Ghostface Killah caught my immediate attention. As members of the prolific Wu-Tang Clan, they helped usher in a new world to the hip-hop scene in 1993 with their debut album “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).”

Blending hardcore hip-hop, martial arts and gritty production, Wu-Tang took everyone by storm. After this album, the various members of The Clan went on to release many successful and influential solo albums.

Raekwon will be performing one of the most important albums with Wu-Tang affiliate Ghostface at iii Points: “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.”

This album is one of my favorite Wu-Tang solo projects. It takes a dive into the life of the American mafia and the underground world in general. The album’s flow and imagery is unparalleled, and helped jumpstart a whole new rap subgenre.

If I was just talking about the album, there isn’t much to say that hasn’t already been said. Luckily, they are performing this live which adds a whole new dimension.

Ghostface and Raekwon have amazing chemistry together. Although they both have a quiet and reserved persona off-stage, once a mic is dropped in their hands that dynamic shifts. Their energy grows and their stage presence becomes a force in itself. They feed off of each other insanely well.

Together, they represent the essence of Wu-Tang. Catch them performing at Missing this performance would be a grave mistake.

iii Points is an alternative music festival taking place in Miami from February 15 – 17, 2019.
